From April 27th till the end of 2003 the Dutch painter Henryette Weijmar Schultz has an art exhibit in the Hagenauerstube, located in Mozarts Geburtshaus in Salzburg. The subject matter of the exhibition is 'Mensch und Musik'.
The heighlight of this presentation is the portrait in oil of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791). The artist drew her inspiration from the work of two contemporaries: Joseph Lange (1789) and Dorothea Stock (1789). Their interpretation of Mozarts’ appearance is regarded as most likeness to him.
Henryette is convinced that she painted Mozart the way he was:
a musical genius, sensitive and gentle and, to this very day, still alive!
